What’s in a Name
When we introduced Dragonfly Mechanical as our new brand name, we got so many questions. We were pleasantly surprised by the number of folks who were interested in where the name came from and why we selected something so different from what’s typical in the HVAC world.
Well, that’s exactly it. We wanted our brand name to stand apart from the ‘comforts’ and ‘climates’ and ‘experts’ the same way our customer service approach stands apart. We’re a different kind of company, and we wanted a different kind of name.
Deep in thought about what that name might be, company president, Will Green, was visited by a dragonfly – landed right on his hand – prompting a quick Google search. It turns out some of the many themes surrounding dragonflies are transformation, adaptability, strength and joy. And an idea was born. When he called his son, Austin, to share his inspiration, he was met with a bit of skepticism. Then, as they were talking it through, a dragonfly landed on Austin’s windowsill. Coincidence? Who knows but it tipped the scales!
